Quick & Easy Kitchen Cupboard Organization

We just finished our kitchen cupboard organization and it turned out so amazing! This was something that I had thought about doing for years but never got around to doing. Honestly, we thought the cupboards were kind of organized before but looking back at them now, they weren’t even close!

I began with a rough idea of where everything should go in the cupboards and how they would be organized. For example, the shelf the item would go one, what container to use, grouping similar items together, etc. One of the things I wanted to change was to put all of our spices in a drawer. We had one drawer dedicated to Avery’s school lunch containers and snacks so all of his school “stuff” was moved to other areas in the kitchen. Also, he’s doing virtual school this year so he doesn’t need to take up an entire drawer, right?!

To start off the organizing, I made a trip to Dollarama (our local dollar store) to buy some containers and baskets needed to store and organize everything. I did end up making a few different trips to the dollar store to get more containers as the organizing went on. I just didn’t want to over buy because we can’t return any items there.

All of the pastas and baking products were put into glass containers on the middle shelves of two of the cupboards. They all ended up looking so pretty on the shelves. Smaller jars with bamboo lids were also used for some of the baking products that didn’t fit in the larger jars.

The plastic “woven” baskets were used for larger items that I wanted to hide such as crackers, pancake mix, syrup, and chips. The smaller “pebble” baskets were used to organize things like coffee, hot chocolate, condiments, canned goods, and vinegars/cooking oils that we use more often and needed easier access to.

Finally, white canisters were used to store all of the different teas we have.

Everything that I bought was priced from $1.50-$4.00 so this was a pretty inexpensive project that created super organized cupboards where we could see and find everything very quickly.

The final piece was to label the containers and the larger baskets. We already had a label machine so that took no time at all to do and it feels so great to have this little project done.

The only thing left to organize is the spice drawer but I’m still waiting on the set of jars for that. Once those are delivered, I’ll share the drawer too!

Hope this inspires you to do some of your own organizing!
